LIVING A POSITIVELY POSITIVE LIFE WITH AN HIV DIAGNOSIS
CKNW News Talk 980: The Simi Sara Show
with guest host Jill Krop
July 31, 2013 - (CKNW AM) AM980 - In studio: Jill Krop interviews Bradford McIntyre Advocate for creating HIV/AIDS awareness.
Last night, AIDS Vancvouer celebrated its 30th anniversary and on hand to celebrate the occasion was Bradford McIntyre. Bradford was diagnosed with HIV in 1984, but
due to the stigma associated with HIV at the time, he did not come out. It took Bradford ten years to come out, which he did on national TV on Worlds Aids Day in 1994. How
has the stigma around HIV and AIDS changed since he was first diagnosed? How has the HIV/AIDS treatment available in British Columbia changed?
Interview starts at 24:18, following the conversation on mobile-phone providers.
