Vancouver, BC, August 2014 - One of Vancouver's most anticipated culinary events,
Scotiabank Passions - a benefit for the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, invites the whole
community to celebrate its 11th year on Sunday, September 14, 2014. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.,
guests will not only partake in delicious bites and drinks from more than 20 of the city's top chefs,
but also revel at a new location as the gala enters its second decade at a new venue, The
Imperial Vancouver at 319 Main Street. This fundraising gala has raised more than $1 million for
HIV/AIDS care since its inaugural launch in 2003.
The 21 participating restaurants and chefs include Beaucoup Bakery, Bittered Sling, CinCin,
Cibo, Coast, Espana, Forage, Joe Fortes, Glowbal Grill, Maenam, Market by Jean-Georges,
Miku, Provence, The Observatory, Tojo's, Urban Fare, and West. Newcomers this year include
Bella Gelateria, The Fat Badger, Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar, and Raw Bar at the Fairmont
Pacific Rim.
"Scotiabank Passions is truly a spectacular evening for food lovers and philanthropists alike,"
explains Nathan Fong, Committee Chair and Founder. "I am so excited to be entering the next
decade of this incredible gala fundraiser, and none of it would be possible without loyal support
from our chefs, restaurants, volunteers, sponsors and committee members - not to mention our
wonderful guests! We can't wait to expand to a new location this year! It's going to be another
incredible celebration."
Scotiabank Passions will once again spotlight a selection of wines courtesy of New Zealand
Winegrowers and beer from R&B Brewing Co.
"We are so grateful for the dedication of Nathan Fong, the chefs, and the event committee who
returns year after year to support our work," says Maxine Davis, Executive Director of the Dr.
Peter AIDS Foundation. "This year's event is set to be the best yet, with new and returning
restaurants and a fresh new event space. "
Global TV's Sophie Lui and The Beat 94.5's Jonny Staub will be emcees for the evening.

About Scotiabank Passions
The history of Scotiabank Passions dates back to 2002 when a small charity cooking class was
held at Barbara-Jo's Books to Cooks. A year later, the annual event was christened "Passions."
Organized by Vancouver food media personality, Nathan Fong, the inaugural event featured nine
chefs, 100 attendees and raised $7000. Under Nathan's continued stewardship, Scotiabank
Passions has since tripled in size and has become one of Vancouver's most popular food and
wine events. To date, Scotiabank Passions has raised more than $1 million for HIV/AIDS care.
