Press Release
Dining Out For Life continues adding more participating businesses to benefit D.A.P. on Thursday, April 30
53 places to Dine Out, Fight AIDS on Thursday, April 30 Record number of participating businesses this year!
PALM SPRINGS, CA, April 12, 2015 - For nine years, restaurants, coffee and snack shops, and bars participating in the annual Dining Out For Life event have been making it easy to donate to services at Desert AIDS Project on the last Thursday of April.
But this year, local businesses have risen to the challenge in even greater numbers – both in terms of total participants and in higher percentages contributed to D.A.P. from their day's sales on April 30. As if that wasn't enough, chefs at participating restaurants are publishing their best recipes on Instagram to build interest in dining at their establishments.
Dining Out has always been a delicious and easy way to support D.A.P. All you have to do is grab a cup of coffee, some yogurt, a cocktail, or enjoy a full-course meal to benefit friends and neighbors in the Coachella Valley living with HIV and AIDS. And your choices for giving this year includes 53 participating businesses – 10 more than just a year ago!
Those new participants include Chez Pierre, Dickey's Barbeque Pit, Over The Rainbow Cupcakes, Smoke Tree BBQ & Grill, Bonta Restaurant and Bar, Cello's Pantry, Firehouse Subs in Palm Desert and Palm Springs, Jus Chillin Frozen Desserts, and Serious Food and Drink. Two other first-time participants, Ristretto and Pho 533, will donate 100% of their take for the day to D.A.P.
Those who can't dine out on April 30, can still give online https://desertaidsproject.thankyou4caring.org/dineout. If you're the type who likes to have a cherry on top of your sundae, donors can enter to win an array of prizes, including an iPad Air, a $1,000 Visa gift card, or two tickets to our valley's swankiest and most heartening events such as the 2015 Queen of the Desert pageant, Everyday Heroes , and the 2016 Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards Gala!
Our HIV testing efforts are continually expanding, so that we can connect everyone who tests positive with top-notch, consistent medical care, getting us further down the road to a world without AIDS. And Dining Out For Life is just about the most delicious way to start getting there.
