COVID-19 Resources for the HIV Community
August 28, 2020 - As we move into September and the start of a new season, we continue to update COVID-19 and People with HIV, our HIV.gov page of resources from agencies across the federal government.
This week, we had the opportunity to check in with some national and local HIV leaders about the incredible work the HIV community continues to do every day to be responsive to coronavirus while also maintaining safe access to HIV prevention, treatment, and care services. While the pandemic has added to the existing challenges faced by those at risk for and with HIV, agencies and healthcare providers have designed and implemented innovative approaches to reach their clients and have begun planning for the next steps in COVID-19 prevention and treatment.
Numerous federal resources are available to support them in these efforts. This includes consumer-focused information on the impact of COVID-19 on people with HIV; guidance for health departments, community-based organizations, and other providers of clinical HIV services; information for program grantees who are responding to the COVID-19 public health emergency; and more.
