Mediaplanet and Chef Gabe Bertaccini Bring Awareness to the HIV/AIDS Epidemic
Mediaplanet’s Living with HIV/AIDS Campaign found within USA TODAY and online, creates an open conversation surrounding an ongoing epidemic.
NEW YORK (PRWEB) DECEMBER 23, 2020 - Following World AIDS Day on December 1, Mediaplanet announces the launch of this year’s edition of “Living with HIV/AIDS.” This campaign will look to break down the stigma surrounding the virus and highlight new and innovative technologies and therapies in prevention, detection, and treatment. It will also showcase organizations advocating for patients and their loved ones.
The level of unfamiliarity and misunderstanding surrounding HIV among wide populations has fueled a cloud of ignorance and stigma. As a result, people have remained ignorant about accurate measures of prevention including getting tested and reaching out to treat and manage the virus. Currently, nearly 1.2 million people in the United States are living with HIV, and about 14% of those living with the disease don’t know they are infected.
The print component of “Living with HIV/AIDS” is distributed within USA TODAY in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, South Florida, Atlanta, Seattle, North/Central Florida, Carolinas, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh/Cleveland, and Philadelphia/Baltimore, with a circulation of approximately 200,000 copies and an estimated readership of 600,000. The digital component is distributed nationally, through a vast social media strategy, and across a network of top news sites and partner outlets. This campaign was made possible with the support Theratechnologies, CAN Community Health, EMD Serono, and Prevention Access Campaign.
