Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Ottawa
September 2014 - The Scotiabank AIDS Walk Ottawa is hosting its 25th annual candlelight Walk to continue the fight against HIV/AIDS. This fundraising event benefits seven local charities that provide direct support for those affected by HIV/AIDS, while promoting community outreach, education, and prevention. The seven charities are: Bruce House, Wabano Centre of Aboriginal Health, Planned Parenthood Ottawa, Snowy OWL AIDS Foundation, Pink Triangle Services (PTS), AIDS Committee of Ottawa, and Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa.
Come support this worthwhile event on Saturday, September 13th, 2014 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Snider Plaza, 150 Bank St. (between Laurier Ave W and Slater St).
The event kicks off with a Community Fair which brings 25 local organizations and businesses together to provide samples, information and activities. At 12:30 PM, kids and adults alike can register to participate in the Family Fun Obstacle Course competition beginning at 1:00 PM. There will be food, music, painting, games, popcorn, cotton candy and much much more!
The iconic, candlelight AIDS Walk will take place at 2:00 PM.The Walk brings over a thousand people together to honour and remember those who have gone before us, stand in support of those living with HIV/AIDS and light the way in hope for an end to this disease.
