The Vancouver Sisters are bringing runway fierceness to the Vancouver AIDS Walk! For every $1k the Sisters raise, we pledge to walk 1km in heels.
The Vancouver Sisters of the Abbey of the Long Cedar Canoe are a group of 21st century nuns who do charitable work in support of Vancouver's queer communities. Their work is primarily focused on HIV/AIDS and homelessness in Greater Vancouver. For more information about the Sisters, visit www.yvrsisters.ca
Walking in heels will be no small feat, as many of the Abbey members do not regularly walk in heels. Our goal is to raise $6,750 to reflect the 6.75km of the entire Vancouver AIDS Walk.
All proceeds from the AIDS Walk go directly to support Positive Living's Complimentary Health Fund (CHF). The CHF gives HIV-positive individuals access to healthcare services not covered by other plans. This can include very basic but essential needs like access to clean water, vitamins, or even a gym membership.
