Ça Marche / Walk for AIDS - Together, we can do it!
Mother of Founder Calls on People to Sponsor Her Directly
The Farha Foundation's 15th annual 7 km AIDS walk to be held in downtown Montreal in support of those living with HIV and AIDS.
September 16, 2007 at 10 AM
(Montreal) - Mrs Farha is lacing up her sneakers and taking to the streets to raise money for the Farha Foundation- Quebec's largest AIDS fundraising organization. She is doing what she has done every year for 15 years - walking in memory of her son, Ron Farha who died of AIDS 1992. The goal is to raise both needed funds and awareness that the disease is still very much around.
This 82 year old grandmother and mother is calling on the people of Quebec to sponsor her directly by visiting www.camarche.ca.
Even though science has made great strides in the battle against the epidemic, and despite the endless efforts from organizations in the fight against AIDS, the disease is still all too present in Canada. This week, 28 people in Québec will become infected with HIV. Since 1992, the Farha Foundation has distributed more than $7.1 millions to 45 AIDS organizations in Québec making it the largest AIDS fundraising organization in the Province.
